Loving the Sunlight!
Acuña Family |
Happy April everyone!! Happy late Easter!! It was another amazing week here in Federal Way and I had the best time celebrating the Savior this past weekend with General Conference.
We started off the week strong with Rafael's baptism last Tuesday!! It was such an awesome night and we had great branch support there to welcome Rafael into the family! I had to convince him to take off his wrangler hat for the baptismal service haha but overall it went super well!! We had a few investigators join us there too which made it even better. The spirit was strong and it was the best way to end the month of March!!
We saw so many great things in our area this past week!! We received quite a few self referrals the past few days and had awesome first lessons with these new potential investigators. I felt like the Spirit was leading all of our conversations and I'm grateful that the Easter season has softened the hearts of people here in Federal Way to hear more about Christ. The best way to celebrate His resurrection is to testify of Him and bring others to the knowledge of His perfect plan!
General Conference was amazing!! It was such a spirit filled weekend. I'm grateful that I was able to spend my only Easter on the mission listening to the words of the prophet and apostles. It was exactly what the world needed to hear! It was so awesome to see how many countries and languages were involved in those conference sessions and that we embraced being a worldwide church more than ever before. I had a few instances throughout Conference that I felt the spirit giving me my own bits of personal revelation and I'm thankful for more chances to grow while out here in the mission field!!
We watched conference with the Acuña family. They are basically my parents here on the mission and it felt like I was right at home with Conference morning breakfast and cinnamon rolls! We had an english room and a spanish room to watch it since all of our recent converts and some investigators joined us on Sunday! It was so much fun. One of them is named Marino and he is progressing a ton in the gospel!! We had an awesome conversation with all of them after Conference and now Marino is preparing to be baptized and become a member of the church on April 17th! General Conference really can work miracles.
There were too many good things shared this past weekend to just choose one! I'm excited to study them all in more depth and learn even more. One talk that just quickly came to my head was from the Sunday afternoon session by Elder Dyches. He talked about the light of Christ never dimming in our lives. One statement that I loved was
"We can have spiritual sunlight in our lives when we repent!"
I loved his mentioning of sunlight and knowing that there is no darkness that can suppress the light of the Savior. Being in a place that lacks sunlight at times, I appreciate knowing I can bring spiritual sunlight into my life when I focus on Jesus Christ and His Atonement. Who doesn't want more light in their lives?!
Thank you all for reading my long email today and constantly giving me so much support and love. I love you all so much!! Have another amazing week enjoying the long awaited spring time!!
But a quick shoutout to Sister Boyden today!!! It's her 20th birthday and she deserves all the love over there in England!!! Caroline is a ray of positivity and love and is an example to us all of a Christlike disciple. Love you CK!! Happy birthday!!
Sending love from sunny Seattle!!
