Mountain Girl

Hola, cómo están?! It was another great week here in Federal Way!! The rain came back to remind us we live in Washington which was a bummer but we are still so happy here!! Hermana Merrill and I never stop laughing and are working hard!

There weren't too many crazy things that happened this week so I'll keep it short! Just a lot of really strong lessons and awesome contacts with new people!! We are doing our best to help get some of our friends a date for baptism this next month. As usual there are many ups and downs with this but overall we are seeing lots of good progress. An easy highlight is how much our friend Ezequiel (the one we found straight out of prison in Tacoma) is progressing! We had such a strong lesson with him the other day and it was such an amazing experience testifying to him that the gospel has been restored. Walking out of that lesson made me so happy to be wearing Christ's name on my chest and representing His Church. It was a really solid week to start off the transfer before exchanges and meetings start next week!

Along with everyone else in the world, I LOVED the talk that President Nelson gave on faith this past conference. I loved his comparison of mountains. I'm a mountain girl and being so close to the mountains is probably one of the things that I miss most from home (besides all of you wonderful people of course). I loved his imagery of looming mountains surrounding us in the challenging times of our lives. My favorite quote of the whole talk is,

"The Savior is never closer to you than when you are facing or climbing a mountain with faith."

This is such a reassuring thought to me that no matter what, Christ is climbing our own personal mountains with us. He never leaves us behind or lets us fend for ourselves. I'm grateful that I have a Savior who is helping me overcome challenges as I climb this mountain of a mission and also a Savior that stands with me on top of my mountains once I've conquered them. I know He does that for each and every one of us through the "conduit of divine power", faith in Christ!

Thanks for reading along! I love you all and am so thankful for the support system I have while serving in the field. You all mean the world to me! Have an amazing week.
