oh JOY!

Hola hola!! It was an amazing week here in Federal Way. We had lots of lessons, our monthly MLC, taught Sunday School in the branch, got transfer calls and had a baptism!! Doesn't get any better than that.

I fortunately don't have any exciting transfer news for you guys as me and Hermana Merrill get to stay in the Dumas Bay branch together! We are so excited. I'm down to my final 4 transfers of the mission. Time flies when you're having fun!! I can't believe May is already ending but I know Heavenly Father has saved the best for last.

A huge highlight of the week was Saúl being baptized on Saturday night!! It was such a good night. We had lots of the other recent converts participate and give their first talks ever in a church service. Saúl was so happy afterwards and I could see a visible difference in his eyes. It was a special night for the whole branch and I feel so blessed to be a part of so much great change in this area! One more for the Elder's Quorum :)

MLC this month was focused on the power of the Book of Mormon in conversion. We had lots of good discussions and really great scriptures were shared!! Sister Beardall challenged us to come prepared with the question "What would you not know if you didn't have the Book of Mormon?" There were so many things I wrote down but one that I've seen a lot on my mission personally and with those I've taught is that the Book of Mormon testifies of the joy you can find through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. A scripture I love to go along with this is Alma 36:21,

"Yea, I say unto you, my son, that there could be nothing so exquisite and so bitter as were my pains. Yea, and again I say unto you, my son, that on the other hand, there can be nothing so exquisite and sweet as was my joy."

The Book of Mormon teaches us that we will face opposition in all things but when we focus on Christ we will always find sweet and exquisite joy. I'm grateful for this book and that all of us can find hope and joy in our challenges!

Quick shoutout to my cousins Matthew and Abby getting married this week!!! I love them both so much and can't wait to have Abby as part of the family. Abby definitely found a good one!! I'm so happy that the squad is growing!! Can't wait to see you guys soon.

I hope everyone has an amazing week! I love and pray for you all!

Sending love from sunny Seattle!!!
